Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
1. Overview
Sodium Learn Ltd. (“we”) operates tools.sodiumlearn.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
We design our tools to handle as much as possible in your browser. Where server processing is required, we minimise what we hold and how long we hold it.
2. Information We Collect
Files you upload
- Converter tools (PowerPoint, PDF): Your file is sent to our server, converted into a SCORM package, and automatically deleted after the download is generated. Files are not stored beyond the processing window.
- Browser-only tools (Validator, Viewer, HTML converter): Files never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript.
Automatically collected data
When you visit the site, we may collect standard web analytics data:
- Pages visited and time spent
- Browser type and device type
- Referring URL
- Country or region (IP-based, not precise geolocation)
We do not collect names, email addresses, or other personal identifiers unless you voluntarily provide them.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
- To process file conversions and return SCORM packages.
- To monitor service health and detect abuse.
- To analyse aggregate usage patterns and improve user experience.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
- Uploaded files: Deleted automatically after SCORM package generation. We do not retain copies.
- SCORM packages: Available for download for a limited period and then permanently deleted from our servers.
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymised. We retain aggregate statistics but do not keep individual-level browsing data beyond 90 days.
5. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party services for:
- Hosting and infrastructure: Our service is hosted on Railway. Files uploaded for conversion are processed on Railway servers and deleted after processing.
- Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools that do not set cross-site tracking cookies or sell user data.
These services are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard measures to protect data in transit (TLS encryption) and at rest. All file uploads and downloads occur over HTTPS.
No system is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
- Data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@sodiumlearn.com.
8. International Users
Our service is hosted in the European Union. If you access the service from outside the EU, your data may be processed within the EU. By using the service, you consent to this transfer.
9. Children’s Privacy
Sodium Tools are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
